Lagos hosts Editors’ Convention

The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has concluded arrangements to hold its Biennial Convention in Ikeja, the Lagos State Capital. According to a statement by the General Secretary, Victoria Ibanga, The Convention, scheduled to hold April 28-30, 2017, will take place at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State. The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has condemned the expulsion of the State House correspondent of Punch Newspapers, Olalekan Adetayo, from Aso Rock by Bashir Abubakar, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Muhammadu Buhari. Editors decry quality of journalism practice

The Nigerian Guild of Editors ( NGE) has lamented the decline in the quality of journalism practice and non-adherence to the ethics of the profession in the country. The Guild stated this in a communique issued at the end of its 12th All Nigerian Editors’ Conference, ANEC held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State from August 3-7, 2016.
